biomass used in EuroEnergy Group' power plants
is generated by:
• correct local forest policy:
planned forest maintenance programs guarantee
a healthy eco-system and contribute to carbon
cycle.
That means bio-diversity conservation, environment saving, soil preservation
, water control and local social & economical development;
• agricultural wood residues collection: i.e. annual prunings of fruit plantations, wineyard and olives trees;
• energy crops production:
Short Rotation Forestry as alternatives to traditional crops, that means high
density plantation, subject to harvest every
2-4 years, leaving roots in order to obtain plant
regeneration;
• sawmill residues collection: clean virgin wood, which has not been processed with chemicals.
